Where is your office located?


Answer: 1790 Lavista Road, NE Atlanta, GA 30329. Our offices are behind the St Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in the long white building.

What are your office hours?


Answer: We are open from 1-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Is the donation I make tax deductible?


Answer: THCA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation registered with the IRS and contributions to our organization qualify as a charitable donation.

How do I qualify for help with my rent?


Answer: You must visit the office and complete a request form in writing. You will also need to bring a copy of your current lease showing a minimum of three months at your current address, a current statement from your landlord showing amount due and past due date, and picture identification. We can assist only for past due rents and the lease must be from a registered Georgia company (i.e. rents paid to an individual do not qualify for assistance). Assistance for rents are provided by check from THCA sent directly to the landlord. We do not provide cash, money orders, or other forms of payments.

How do I qualify for help with my utility bills?


Answer: You must visit the office and complete a request form in writing. You must bring a copy of your past due electricity, gas or water bill, and a picture ID. The bill must be in the applicant’s name. We can only assist with past due bills. Assistance for utility bills are provided by check from THCA sent directly to the utility company. We do not provide cash, money orders, or other forms of payments.

What communities do you provide assistance for?


Answer: Currently we are only able to assist residents living in the 30033, 30324, 30329, 30341, and 30345 zip code areas.

How often can THCA provide assistance?


Answer: We have a limit of financial assistance of once per month up to a calendar year maximum. Assistance of food products can be provided on an as need basis as often as once a week.

How do I get assistance with food or other perishable needs?


Answer: THCA has a food pantry available to provide emergency assistance for those needing food supplies. We keep canned meats, vegetables, starches, along with breads and other items. TCHA also keeps preprepared canned foods for applicants who may have limited or no cooking facilities. TCHA also keeps some special dietary and baby foods, and also has some gift cards to assist in purchasing prescription medication or specialty needs. An application and picture ID is required to receive this assistance.
